Published Tuesday 18 August 2026. Norbury passengers using the route 50 bus towards Croydon should check live travel information this week, after Transport for London listed a diversion linked to tram engineering works at Wellesley Road, CR0.
TfL’s live bus status page says routes 50, 75, 154 and 403 are on diversion towards Croydon, Morden and Warlingham until 02:00 on Friday 21 August. TfL says buses will divert via Lansdowne Road, Dingwall Road and George Street, and that no stops will be missed.
Why this matters for Norbury
Route 50 serves Norbury Station and other stops used by Norbury residents travelling between South London and Croydon. TfL route data lists Norbury Station among the route 50 stops, so passengers heading into central Croydon may see altered routing near the end of the journey even if their Norbury stop is operating as normal.
The diversion is not listed as a closure of Norbury stops. However, diversions can affect journey times, bus spacing and connections, especially for passengers changing to trams or other buses in Croydon.
Practical checks before travelling
- Check TfL’s live status for route 50 shortly before leaving.
- Allow extra time if your journey connects with tram, rail or appointment times in Croydon.
- Look for notices at stops and on buses, as local arrangements can change.
- If you use another affected route, check the live status for that route separately.
